Certified Art Giclée™ Print
Art&Co. by MCH is delighted to offer you a stunning collection of original prints featuring valued artworks at the highest level of quality - Certified Art Giclée™ printed in the Netherlands.
Our giclée fine art prints utilize cutting-edge digital printing techniques that meet the rigorous standards demanded by artists, museums, and collectors alike. In today's contemporary art world, giclée prints have earned an esteemed place alongside traditional graphic arts such as etching, silkscreen, and lithography, standing proudly as a form of Fine Art and photo print.
Around the globe, numerous museums opt to showcase giclées in place of original works of art that are deemed too fragile to be displayed. This trend highlights the exceptional caliber of giclée prints, which must meet stringent requirements established by museums, such as the ISO 9706 and NEN2728 standards, and undergo a meticulous production process to ensure top-notch quality.
Art is an exceptional form of craftsmanship that must be cherished and preserved. At Art&Co. by MCH, we are committed to upholding this standard of excellence, which is why we have introduced the 'Certified Art Giclée' quality mark to our artwork.
The Certified Art Giclée™ quality mark sets the gold standard for original, limited giclée fine art printing editions across Europe.
It serves as a clear differentiator between museum-quality giclées of original, high-grade, and significant value, and inferior inkjet prints that are often passed off as giclées. With the Certified Art Giclée™ logo, consumers, artists, galleries, and museums are guaranteed the highest quality and long lifespan of their giclées, always accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. The mark also assures that no more prints will be produced than what is agreed upon with the artist. For instance, if it is an edition of twenty-five, we will never exceed twenty-five prints.
A Certified Art Giclée™ is built to last, boasting a lifespan of at least one hundred years and meeting the archival standard set by the 'Fine Art Trade Guild.'
Every Certified Art Giclée™ is printed using waterproof archival pigment inks on acid-free and OBA-free materials. These materials are endowed with an invisible coating that creates a chemical reaction between the ink and material, ensuring that the giclée maintains its pristine condition over time. The prints themselves have an unparalleled level of detail, thanks to a minimum resolution of 1440 dpi and screenless technology.
To further underscore the giclée's authenticity, each one is accompanied by a visible number and artist signature, rather than a printed facsimile. The certificate of authenticity features its own unique number and signature, co-signed by the master printer. The edition number, including the EA's, is also specified in the certificate, adding to the giclée's prestige and exclusivity.
Certificates with the Certified Art Giclée™ quality mark and the GPE logo
Every Certified Art Giclée™ comes with a certificate of authenticity bearing an embossed seal. This certificate outlines all the vital details of the edition, including a picture of the artwork, the artist's name and website, the title, the edition, the number of EAs*, and the master printer. The certificate features a blind embossing with a quality mark, numbering, and signatures from both the artist and master printer.
This certificate serves as a testament to the giclée's durability and longevity, ensuring that it will endure for many years to come. It distinguishes Certified Art Giclée fine art prints from all other giclée prints on the market in terms of quality, providing consumers with the assurance that they have invested in something of true value.
** The term 'EA' refers to 'Épreuve d’Artiste', which are additional prints created at the artist's request. These prints, which never exceed 10% of the edition, are considered an integral part of the collection and are often kept in the artist's private collection. Artists may also use EAs as gifts to friends or for special occasions. Once the numbered prints of an edition have sold out, galleries often sell EAs as the only remaining items. Due to their exclusivity, EAs often command higher prices and are highly sought after by collectors. They are also signed as 'APs' or 'Artist Proof'.
